Polling in the Kandep District Local Level Government (LLG) election was carried out peacefully this week, marking a positive shift for the area often known for tense election periods.



Voters turned out in large numbers across all polling venues to cast their votes in an orderly manner. The Electoral Commission’s team, supported by police and defence personnel, ensured that polling materials were distributed on time and that polling proceeded without any major disruptions.


Community leaders and candidates praised the efforts of the Enga Provincial Administration and security forces for maintaining calm and order throughout the process.



Counting is expected to begin soon, with early reports indicating high voter participation and minimal complaints.


The peaceful conduct of the Kandep LLG election has been described as a sign of growing political maturity in the district and a hopeful step toward stability and development in the wider Enga Province.
